An Interview with RICHARD STENGL
Richard Stengl called in from Fort Myers, Florida — just a few months after his 85th birthday — for a conversation with Life in Story about some highlights from his life. He spoke about growing up on a farm, driving the tractor at a young age, putting in potatoes, and his small school house. He shared about dancing the polka with his mom, about playing in the woods, and a bit about his high school and college years.
Dick also talked about his various jobs, including starting a town, opening a pizza and ice cream shop with his wife, Arlene, and working as a private investigator. Of course, Dick’s story wouldn’t be complete without hearing him talk with love about his family — including his lengthy marriage with Arlene, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dick has led a rich life — impossible to capture in just one hour. However, I hope through this interview, you’re able to capture the essence of who Dick is and hear his laugh. Settle in, relax, and enjoy Dick’s stories.
