Townsend & Conni’s Love story
Townsend and Conni Collins could tell their love story simply, as in, “We met in a bar.” But there is so much more to their story. Townsend and Conni spoke by phone from their Knoxville, TN home as they approached 54 years of marriage. One of their adult daughters joined the call, too.
In this Life in Story interview, we begin with Conni in the early 1960s, when she was a single woman from Wisconsin, living in San Francisco and working as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines. She shares about the serendipitous connections she and Townsend discovered the first night they met, and about how their love blossomed in their shared Pacific Heights neighborhood. He talks about the details the surprising location of his marriage proposal.
Now, with two adult daughters and five grandchildren, Townsend and Conni are retired and spend their days mostly with each other as they ride out the COVID-19 pandemic. Enjoy this marvelous love story, that continues to unfold.
